I finally have had a good
nights sleep! We are at the Neamiah house in Cagiene Del Oro.
Yesterday we spent several
hours in the airport. Our plane was an hour or so late and there were so many
people waiting for flights that we sat in a very crowded terminal what seemed
like forever. When we were finally called for our flight we didn’t
hear/understand the announcement. Thankfully I heard and barely understood Dan
and Steve’s names as they were called over the intercom with thick accent. I
never did hear my own name! After that we sat for a long time on the tarmac
before they even closed the door on the plain to get in line for take off.
When we got to Cagine Del Oro
Patti and Mark Kenny were there to meet us with huge smiles and hugs. They had
used the time to meet some local kids and they introduced us to them. Then we hoped
in a pickup and headed for the mall. We went into a huge store full of random
things. It was kind of the Philippine’s version of Wallmart where w bought some
bottled water and snacks for us and some treats for the girls. Then Steve
bought the Kennie’s a blender which we will use as a coffee grinder and then
donate to them to use for their home.
I feel so blessed to be here!
Last night we were welcomed with a celebration in our honor. Over the front
door was a banner that said Welcome City’s Edge and it was signed by all the
girls! As we came up the stairs, the girls cheered and came to meet us with
great joy and smiles! They grabbed my hand warmly and raised it to touch their
foreheads. It was very sweet and touching.
When we got inside there was
a feast set out for us on the table. There was even a pig with an apple in it’s
mouth! There were also among other things, lasagna that was wonderful and Mango
that I’m sure will be part of the feast in heaven with our King.
When we were done with dinner
the girls did some dances they had worked up just for us to the tune of some
rocking Christian worship CDs. Next we played some games with them and I danced
and sang with them to Christian CDs.
Several of the girls brought
me their journels to write in to them. I really enjoyed getting to talk with
them one on one and give them a hug and encourage them. I feel so blessed as I
woke up today thinking about it all.
The top photo is my room in Gingoog! What an amazing place!!! I have been more than blessed!
